Q: Are the mk4 gauge faces covers or replacments?
A: The mk4 gauge faces are Direct replacments and are made of very thin plastic.
Q: Do the mk4 gauge faces light up like the factory gauge faces?
A: It is almost impossible to replicate OEM gauges, but when lit up at night they are very very close to OEM.
Q: Can you put black in the MFA area of my mk4 gauge face?
A: The answer is yes and no. We can use black, but in order for the warning lights to display properly, they must be on the front of the gauge face in order to see them light up.
Q: Can I inchange Meister Gauge Faces between any Mk4?
A: Yes, As long as the gauge face retains the same mph and tach numbers. (Example: a 160 face to a 160cluster, You can not put a 180 face on a 160 cluster or a gas tach on a diesel car)
Q: How long does it take to install mk4 gauges?
A: Depending on the person and mechanical back ground, it may very. Typically about 30 - 45mins.

Q: Are the mk1, mk2, mk3 gauge faces made out of metal or are they covers?
A: The gauge faces are covers that has an adhesive that does not shrink with temperature change.
Q: What are Meister Gauge Faces made of? (Mk1-Mk3)
A: They are made of a photographic type of paper that does not absorb moisture.
Q: How are the gauge faces applied to the stock face? (Mk1-Mk3)
A: A special formulated adhesive is already on the back ready to peal. Tests conclude that this works better than sticker paper (crack & peal, label paper), like some other companies use. Sticker paper absorbs moister which causes heavy pealing and bubbling within two weeks -to a month.
Q: How long does it take to install the gauges?
A: Depending on the person and mechanical back ground, it may very. Typically about 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours for mk1-mk3.
Q: How do I calibrate the gauges after installing?
A: The tach needle are aligned to the zero point on the gauge face. For mk1-mk2 the speedo is aligned to a hash mark below the visible gauge face, then moved up and over the stop pin.
Q: How do you cut out the odometer and holes for the gauge face? (Mk1-Mk3)
A: Using the stock gauge face. After you adhere the gauge face, Flip over the gauge and trim the holes. This makes for a perfect fit to your gauge face. We use this process because VW uses two different brands of gauge cluster, VDO & MotoMeter. The holes in Motometer gauge faces differ very slightly from VDO this makes all of our gauge faces universal to both brands. Also for Passat and Corrado gauge faces, some come with a different verity of clocks and MFA display screens.
Q: How long does it take to install mk1-mk3, Porsche, & early Audi gauges?
A: Depending on the person and mechanical back ground, it may very. Typically about 2-3 hours.

A: Yes, we can do just about anything you can imagine. If you send us a picture or a graphic you'd like we can reproduce it and custom make your own gauge faces.
Q: Can Meister Gauge Faces put a VW Symbol or badge on my gauge faces.
A: We are sorry to say that we can not do this. VWoA (Volkswagen of America) is trademarked and will not allow anyone to use their logo, or any trademarked logo under the VWoA name. This includes GTI, Rabbit, Jetta, or any badge on any VW. No other companys can do this either.
Q: Can Meister Gauge faces do installations?
A: Yes. By sending us yours or a used cluster from a wrecking yard, we can installed it and have it back to you in a matter of days.
Q: Can you take the gauges out from the front of your dash?
A: No. in order for you to take the entire gauge cluster out of the dash.
